Chitragupta Mantra to Remove Sins is a divine sadhana to remove all the negative aspects of life here and in heaven. Chitragupta just maintains the accounts of a human being in his various birth-times.
His main purpose is to decide the placements in hell or heaven and thereby removing all the sins by providing the various kinds of punishments and providing rewards also.
Chitragupta is the chief accountant of sins and karmas. By reciting this Chitragupta mantra one can free himself from the sins.
It is believed that by reciting this Chitragupta mantra, Chitragupta only counts the good karmas and skips the counting of sins.
Chitragupta is a Hindu god assigned with the task of keeping complete records of actions of human beings on the earth and punish or reward them according to their Karmas.
Upon their death, Chitragupta has the task of deciding heaven or hell for the humans, depending on their actions on the earth.
Chitragupta is the seventeenth Manasputra of Lord Brahma.

Chitragupta mantra karan’yāsa
‘om namō vicitrāya aṅguṣṭhābhyāṁ namaḥ.
Dharmalēkhakāya tarjanībhyāṁ namaḥ.
Yamavāhikādhikariṇē madhyamābhyāṁ namaḥ.
Mlvyūṁ janmasampratpralayaṁ anāmikābhyāṁ namaḥ.
Kathaya kathaya kaniṣṭhikābhyāṁ namaḥ.
Svāhā karatalakarapr̥ṣṭhābhyāṁ namaḥ.

Chitragupta Dhyanam
vastrabhūṣāriāmaṁ vicitrāsīnaminduprabhāsyam.
Nr̥ṇāṁ pāpapuṇyāni patrē likhantaṁ bhajē citraguptaṁ sakhāyaṁ yamasya.
चित्रगुप्त ध्यान
वस्त्रभूषारिामं विचित्रासीनमिन्दुप्रभास्यम्।
नृणां पापपुण्यानि पत्रे लिखन्तं भजे चित्रगुप्तं सखायं यमस्य॥
इस मंत्र से ध्यान धरकर जप करना चाहिए।
ऐसी मान्यता है कि चित्रगुप्त मंत्र से सर्वदुखों व सर्वपापों का नाश होता है।
जो इस सिद्ध मंत्र का जप करता है, उससे चित्रगुप्त प्रसन्न होते हैं और उसके पापों की नहीं, पुण्यों की गणना होती है।
