The name Bhairavi means "Terror" or "awe-inspiring". She is the Fifth of ten Mahāvidyas. She is also called Tripurabhairavi. "Tri" means three, "Pura" means fortress, castle, city, town, etc.

Tripura Bhairavī is set to be residing in Muladhara chakra. Her mantra consists of three letters and they all form an inverted triangle in the center of the Muladhara chakra.
She is the creator in Muladhara chakra in the form of kama rupa, which consists of three dots forming an inverted triangle, from which all triads are born, which ultimately leads to the creation of this universe.

How To Chant The Tripura Bhairavi Mantra
- Start from Tuesday night after 10 pm facing north.
- Worship Tripura Bhairavi Yantra or picture with flowers and incense.
- Lit a ghee lamp before the picture of Tripura Bhairavi.
- Chant 10 rosaries of this mantra for 21 consecutive days.
- After that, Sadhna offers some gifts to girls.
- After 21 days, you will observe the divine grace of Tripura Bhairavi.
