The Krishna Madhurashtakam is a Sanskrit composition in the devotion of Krishna, composed by the Hindu Bhakti philosopher-poet Sripad Vallabha Acharya.
The devotional hymn Madhurashtakam of Sri Vallabhacharya was created to lead the devotee in Pushtimarg, the Path of Grace.
The path involves a constant love-filled devotion to Krishna by various acts of homage, such as singing, remembering, conceptualising and beholding a beatific image of the deity upon singing of the Madhurashtakam , and offering of services.
These acts enable the devotee to enter into the divine presence of Sri Krishna and to experience the Lord’s real essence which are in fact, succinctly laid down by the Madhurashtakam.
Hence, Madhurashtakam plays an instrumental role in the realisation of the Lord.
Everything about the Lord Krishna, whatever he does or does not, whatever we see or hear or think of him is sheer sweet bliss! No wonder since he is himself the overlord of sweetness/bliss, or put in another way, he is sweetness/bliss personified!
One who recites this Madhurashtakam daily leads to a blissful life here and thereafter by the divine grace of Lord Krishna and all of his worries and depressions fade away quickly.
Krishna Madhurashtakam Meaning
॥ सार्थ मधुराष्टकं ॥
अधरं मधुरं वदनं मधुरं नयनं मधुरं हसितं मधुरम् ।
हृदयं मधुरं गमनं मधुरं मधुराधिपतेरखिलं मधुरम् ॥ १॥
Krishna’s lip, face, eye, smile, heart and gait are

Yamuna, its waves, water and the lotus are all sweet.

separation, looking at them and their good behaviour are all sweet.

The cowherd boy friends, the cows, the forms he creates,
his domination over all and the results therefrom are all sweet.
