Brihaspati Kavacham is an armor of protection for the sadhak. Brihaspati or Guru is the master of gods, Demi-gods, and Vedic seers. Brihaspati represents the wisdom and intelligence of all devas.
Brihaspati is the guiding force by which all devas conquer demons or asuras. A strong Brihaspati in the horoscope of a person can change his destiny and can lead to abundance and wealth.
In Vedic mythology, Brihaspati is the preceptor or teacher of the gods (devas). He is the master of sacred wisdom, hymns, and rites. He is also the sage counselor of Indra, the king of the devas, in his war against the asuras (demons).
People often depict Brihaspati as a bearded man with a fair complexion. A common portrayal of Brihaspati is as a bearded man with a fair complexion, holding a staff and a book, symbolizing his knowledge and wisdom.
Some later texts also identify Brihaspati with the planet Jupiter. The Hindu calendar derives the word "Brihaspativara," or Thursday, from his name. Brihaspati, identified with Jupiter, is considered an auspicious and benevolent planet.
People also know Brihaspati as Deva-guru (guru of the gods). Jupiter is a good indicator of fortune, wealth, fame, luck, devotion, wisdom, compassion, spirituality, religion, and morality, among other things. Jupiter rules the stomach and liver.
Jupiter or Brihaspati rules over the sidereal signs of Sagittarius and Pisces. People regard Jupiter as a benefic planet, the most auspicious, helpful, and generous among all planets.
He is the teacher of Gods and knows the Vedas and is an expert in all forms of knowledge.
Brihaspati is four-armed and wears yellow clothes and is very fond of sweets. He sits on a lotus and eight yellow horses pull his chariot.
This Guru Kavacham is used to enhance the positive frequencies of Brihaspati in the natal chart and the Dasha of Guru.
It has been said that whoever recites this Kavach remains victorious everywhere.
