Asht Lakshmi Anushthan is a divine ritual that is performed to please all the eight forms of Lakshmi. Ashtalakshmi or Asht Lakshmi are a group of eight Hindu Goddesses, the manifestations of Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of wealth, who preside over eight sources of wealth. “Wealth” in the context of Ashta-Lakshmi means prosperity, good health, knowledge, strength, progeny, and power.
Hindus believe that anybody who worships Lakshmi sincerely, and not in greed, will be blessed with fortune and success. It is said that Lakshmi resides in places of hard work, virtue, and bravery, but leaves whenever these qualities are not apparent anymore.
The eight forms of Lakshmi are Maha Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Saubhagya Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Rajya Lakshmi, Vijay Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi.
