Neelkanth Aghora Mantra belongs to Lord Shiva. Neelkanth is another name of Lord Shiva. ‘Neel’ means Blue, whereas ‘Kantha’ means throat.
Lord Shiva received the name when he consumed Halahala poison, which came out during the sea churning, i.e. 'Samudra Manthan'.
Lord Mahadev accumulated the whole poison in His throat. Thus, Lord Shiva Became Blue-Throated And Came To Be Known As Neelkanth.
