Trilokya Mohan Surya Kavach is a divine prayer from Brahma Yamala Tantra and is believed to be the key factor in acquiring success in a short period. This holy divine armor or Trilokya Mangalam Kavacham was composed by Lord Surya in ancient times.
Surya is the leader of all the grahas or planets. Surya is the source of power and provides energy to all the living beings on earth. Surya has a major role and influence in the birth chart as it determines health, career growth, and success in life.
As per the Hindu Religion, Surya symbolizes the Sun God. Surya is considered the only visible form of God that can be seen every day. God Surya is regarded as an aspect of Shiva and Vishnu by Shaivites and Vaishnavas respectively.
Surya is also known as Surya Narayana. Surya, the Sun God is also acknowledged as one of the eight forms of Lord Shiva (Astamurti). Surya is the lord of excellence and wisdom. Trilokya Mohan Kavach is a powerful Kavach that can be accompanied by Surya Beej Mantra, Surya Gayatri Mantra, Surya Ashtakam, Aditya Hrudyam, and Chakshu Upanishad mantra.
Trilokya Mohan Surya Kavach Meaning
श्रीसूर्य उवाच ।
साम्ब साम्ब महाबाहो शृणु मे कवचं शुभम् ।
त्रैलोक्यमङ्गलं नाम कवचं परमाद्भुतम् ॥ १॥
Sri Surya Uvacha:-
Lord Sun told:-
Samba , Samba Maha Baho Srunu May Kavacham Shubham,
Trilokya Mangalam Nama Kavacham Paramadbutham.
Oh Samba, who is greatly valorous, please hear from me the holy armor,
Which is auspicious to the three worlds and which is greatly wonderful.
यज्ज्ञात्वा मन्त्रवित्सम्यक् फलं प्राप्नोति निश्चितम् ।
यद्धृत्वा च महादेवो गणानामधिपोभवत् ॥ २॥
Yajnathwa Manthravith Mamyak Phalam Prapnothi Nischitham,
Yadhruthwa Cha Mahadevo Gananam Adhipo Bhaveth.
Using it as a mantra in fire sacrifices surely would lead to accurate results,
For Lord Shiva became the leader of the Ganas by wearing them.
पठनाद्धारणाद्विष्णुः सर्वेषां पालकः सदा ।
एवमिन्द्रादयः सर्वे सर्वैश्चर्यमवाप्मुयुः ॥ ३॥
Padanath Dharanath Vishnu Sarveshaam Palaka Sadaa,
Evam Indraaya Sarve Sarvaisvarya Mavapnuyu.
Reading and wearing it Lord Vishnu became for all times protector of all,
And Indra got all the types of wealth.
कवचस्य ऋषिर्ब्रह्मा छन्दोनुष्टुबुदाहृतः ।
श्रीसूर्यो देवता चात्र सर्वदेवनमस्कृतः ॥ ४॥
Kavachasya Rishi Brahma Chando Anushtubudhahrutha,
Sri Suryo Devatha Chathra Sarva Deva Namosthuthe,
To the armor the sage is Brahma, the meter is anushtup with a crooked turn,
The God addressed is the Sun God who is being saluted by all devas.
यश आरोग्यमोक्षेषु विनियोगः प्रकीर्तितः ।
प्रणवो मे शिरः पातु घृणिर्मे पातु भालकम् ॥ ५॥
Yasa Arogya Aoksheshu Viniyoga Prakeerthi Tha,
Pranavo May Sira Pathu , Grunir May Pathu Phalakm.
This is being chanted to get fame, health, and salvation.
Let the personification of Om protect my head,
Let the shining one protect my forehead.
सूर्योऽव्यान्नयनद्वन्द्वमादित्यः कर्णयुग्मकम् ।
अष्टाक्षरो महामन्त्रः सर्वाभीष्टफलप्रदः ॥ ६॥
Suryo Avuyaa Nayana Dwandwa, Adhithya Karna Yugmakam,
Ashtaksharo Maha Mantra Sarva Abheeshta Phala Pradha.
Let Lord Sun protect both my eyes,
Let Adhithya protect both my ears,
The eight-lettered mantra fulfills all my desires.
ह्रीं बीजं मे मुखं पातु हृदयं भुवनेश्वरी ।
चन्द्रबिम्बं विंशदाद्यं पातु मे गुह्यदेशकम् ॥ ७॥
Hreem Beej May Mukham patu , Hrudayam Bhuvaneswari,
Chandra Bimbam Vimsadadyam Pathu May Guhya Desakam.
Let the root “Hreem” protect my mouth,
Let The goddess of all the worlds protect my heart,
Let the moon along with his twenty assistants protect my private parts.
अक्षरोऽसौ महामन्त्रः सर्वतन्त्रेषु गोपितः ।
शिवो वह्निसमायुक्तो वामाक्षीबिन्दुभूषीतः ॥ ८॥
Aksharo Asou Maha Mantra, Sarva Thanthreshu Gopitha,
Shivo Vahni Samayuktho Vamakshi Bindu Bhooshitha,
Yekaksharo Maha Mantra Sri Suryasya prakeerthi tha.
The perennial gold like great chant which is secret from all tantras,
Is with the fire of Lord Shiva and the Dot of the Goddess with the left eye,
And that chant with one letter sings the glory of the Sun god.
एकाक्षरो महामन्त्रः श्रीसूर्यस्य प्रकीर्तितः ।
गुह्याद्गुह्यतरो मन्त्रो वाञ्छाचिन्तामणिः स्मृतः ॥ ९॥
Guhyad Guhyatharo Manthram Vancha Chinthamani Smrutha,
Seershadhi Pada Paryantham Sada Pathu Manuthama,
Let that mantra which is secret of secrets, just by remembering which it fulfills all wishes,
And May it always protect me from my head to toe, Oh greatest of Manus.
शीर्षादिपादपर्यन्तं सदा पातु मनूत्तमः ।
इति ते कथितं दिव्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु दुर्लभम् ॥ १०॥
Ithi They Kaditham Divyam Trishu Lokeshu Durlabham,
Sri Pradham Kanthidham Nithyam Dhanarogya Vivardhanam.
This which has been told is divine and is difficult to obtain in the three worlds,
And this would grant wealth, make you shine forever, and increase wealth and health.
श्रीप्रदं कान्तिदं नित्यं धनारोग्यविवर्धनम् ।
कुष्ठादिरोगशमन महाव्याधिविनाशनम् ॥ ११॥
Kushtadhi Roga Samanam, Maha Vyadhi Vinasanam,
Trisansandhyam Ya Padeth Nithyam Arogi Balavan Bhaveth.
This would cure leprosy and destroy all great diseases,
And by reading it at dawn, noon and dusk,
One would attain freedom from diseases and become strong.
त्रिसन्ध्यं यः पठेन्नित्यमरोगी बलवान्भवेत् ।
बहुना किमिहोक्तेन यद्यन्मनसि वर्तते ॥ १२॥
Bahunaa Kimihokthena Yadyath Manasi Varthathe ,
Thath Sarvam Bhaveth Thasya Kavachasya Cha Dharanath
He in whose heart if many desires reside,
By wearing this armour all of them would be fulfilled.
ततत्सर्वं भवेत्तस्य कवचस्य च धारणात् ।
भूतप्रेतपिशाचाश्र्च यक्षगन्धर्वराक्षसाः ॥ १३॥
Bhootha Pretha Pisachanchsca Yaksha Gandharva Rakshasa,
Brahma Rakshasa Vetala na Drushtum Api Tham Kshama.
Ghosts, dead souls , devils , Yakshas, Gandahrwas, Rakshasas,
Brahma Rakshasas , Vetalas cannot be seen anywhere near.
ब्रह्मराक्षसवेताला न् द्रष्टुमपि तं क्षमाः ।
दूरादेव पलायन्ते तस्य सङ्कीर्तणादपि ॥ १४॥
भूर्जपत्रे समालिख्य रोचनागुरुकुङ्कुमैः ।
रविवारे च सङ्क्रान्त्यां सप्तम्यां च विशेषतः ।
धारयेत्साधकश्रेष्ठः श्रीसूर्यस्य प्रियोभवेत् ॥ १५॥
Dhooradeva palayanthe thasya sangeerthanad api,
Bhoorja pathre samalikhya rochanaa garu kumkumai.
Ravivare cha sankranthyam sapthamyam cha viseshatha,
Dharayeth Sadhaka sresta sa paro may priyo bhavedh.
If it is sung even from a distance it would protect ,
And if it is written on the leaves of birch tree ,
By the use of Saffron made of yellow pigment,
Specially On Sunday, or Month beginning, or seventh phase of the moon
And if it is worn by the great devotee, he would become dear to me.
त्रिलोहमध्यगं कृत्वा धारयेद्दक्षिणे करे ।
शिखायामथवा कण्ठे सोपि सूर्यो न संशयः ॥ १६॥
Tri loha madhyagam kruthwaa dharayedh Dakshine kare ,
Shikhayaam adhava kande sopi Suryo na samsaya.
If it is kept in the middle of three metals and worn on the right hand,
Or on hair or neck, he is equal to Sun without any doubt.
इति ते कथितं साम्ब त्रैलोक्यमङ्गलाभिधम् ।
कवचं दुर्लभं लोके तव स्नेहात्प्रकाशितम् ॥ १७॥
Ithi they kaditham Samba trilokyamangalabhidham,
Kavacham durlabham loke thava snehath prakasitham.
Oh Samba, that which I have told you is auspicious to the three worlds,
And is the armor which is difficult to obtain and has been told by me due to my love towards you.
अज्ञात्वा कवचं दिव्यं यो जपेत्सूर्यमुत्तमम् ।
सिद्धिर्न जायते तस्य कल्पकोटिशतैरपि ॥ १८॥
Ajnathwa Kavacham divyam yo japeth Suryamuthamam,
Sidhirna jayathe thasya Kalp koti sathairapi.
Without knowing this divine armor, if one chants the name of the great Sun God,
He would not get any power, even if he does it for crores of eons.
इति श्रीब्रह्मयामले त्रैलोक्यमङ्गलं नाम सूर्यकवचं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
